Q: Can water be pumped through my unit?

Q: My ROA model was giving good pressure, now it only will give about half of rating?

A: Most likely foreign material has gotten under one of the valves holding it open, causing low flow.

Q: What kind of oil do I need for my ROA-P201-AA?

A: None, these models are oilless, and do not require oil.

Q: Can I pump explosive gas through my LOA?

A: No, none of Gast models are able to pump explosive gases.

Q: My 71R will start fine, but after it shuts off and tries to restart it only hums.

A:A: ROC-R models will not restart under any load, the head must be unloaded for proper restart.

Q: What can I use to clean the internal parts on my ROC-R with?

A: Gast recommends using Gast flushing solvent AH255B, if this is not available you can use electrical contact cleaner.

Q: What are the colored pieces of metal between the cylinder and body for on my ROA?

A: These are shims to protect the retainer plate from hitting the vale plate, if removed, they must be reassembled the same way they came off. If one is lost it must be replaced to assure proper clearances.

Q: Can I get new motor brushes for my ROA-P201-JH?

A: Yes the brushes can be obtained from your nearest Gast distributor, look on our web site and click on sales & distribution.

Q: Can I replace the motor on my ROA model?

A: The motor can not be replaced in the field, the unit should be sent to a rebuild center.
