A: No, clean dry air only.

Q: My piston pump is leaking around the heads is this normal?

A: The piston unit is not leak proof, leakage around the head is normal, and doesn’t affect the specified flow rate of unit.

Q: What kind of oil do I need for my piston unit?

A: None, Gast piston units are oilless, and do not require lubrication.

Q: Can I pump combustible gas through my Piston pump?

A: No, none of Gast models are designed to pump combustible gases.

Q: I received my dual voltage unit, wired it for 115 volt power, it runs very slow and lopes. What is wrong?

A: The unit is wired for high voltage at from the factory, check the motor label to see how to rewire unit to for low voltage.

Q: What can I use to clean my piston unit with?

A: Gast flushing solvent AH255D, if this is not available you can use electrical contact cleaner.

Q: Are there repair kits available for my piston unit?

A: Yes, check the operation manual for kit required. If you don’t have the manual, go to Technical Documents and choose manual.

A: The motor can not be replaced in the field, the unit should be sent to an authorized service center.
